  • By the Way, I Forgive You is the sixth studio album by Brandi Carlile, released on February 16, 2018. “The Joke” was released as the album’s lead single.[2][3] The album was co-produced by Dave Cobb and Shooter Jennings.[4][5] The album art is an original painting by Scott Avett.[6]

    Critical reception[edit]

    By the Way, I Forgive You received mostly positive reviews from music critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album has an average score of 74 out of 100, which indicates “generally favorable reviews” based on ten reviews.[8]

    Rolling Stone referred to the album as a “delicate masterpiece”.[1]
